Heriot Brown is working with a globally recognised insurance marketplace to appoint a Senior Solicitor into their London-based legal team. This is a rare opportunity to join a legal function at the centre of one of the most complex and dynamic sectors in the insurance industry.

About the role

You’ll support the General Counsel, Head of Corporate and senior stakeholders across the business, advising on high-impact strategic, regulatory, and transactional legal matters. This includes advising on global initiatives, membership and market structure, complex commercial contracts, and key projects across corporate governance, risk, IP, tech and data.

You'll also:

– Provide accurate, risk-based advice across capital, regulatory and compliance matters

– Lead on drafting, negotiating and reviewing high-value commercial agreements

– Advise on market oversight, strategic transactions and legal risks associated with the organisation’s operations

– Collaborate across departments and represent legal at the highest levels

– Manage external counsel and contribute to key regulatory and cross-border projects


Who are you?

✔ UK-qualified solicitor with strong post-qualification experience

✔ Background in commercial, regulatory, and corporate legal matters

✔ Comfortable advising senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, regulated environment

✔ Commercial, pragmatic and confident in managing complex legal risks

✔ Experience in insurance, reinsurance or broader financial services is desirable but not essential
