Quantity Surveyor – Renewables / HV / Substations


Glasgow Area | Multiple Companies | £50,000–£70,000 (DOE)


We’re currently recruiting Quantity Surveyors (QS) through to Senior Quantity Surveyors (SQS) for several contractors working on major renewables projects with a focus on HV and substations.


One role is linked to the Scottish Power framework, while others deliver similar renewable energy packages across Scotland.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Managing cost control and commercial management of civils packages on renewables, HV, and substation projects
  • Preparing and reviewing valuations, interim applications, and final accounts under NEC and FIDIC contracts
  • Monitoring contract compliance and contractual correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve commercial issues
  • Supporting risk management and commercial reporting throughout project lifecycle


What we’re looking for:


  • Proven QS experience on renewables, HV, or substation projects
  • Experience working with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, budgeting, and commercial processes
  • Electrical bias preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently on-site and collaboratively in hybrid environments
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management


Salary & Benefits:


  • £50,000–£70,000 depending on experience and level
