Head of WMS

Up to £85,000 + Package

Midlands

The Head of WMS & WLM Systems to lead the strategy, optimisation, and day-to-day operations of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Warehouse Labor Management (WLM) platforms. This individual will manage a cross-functional team of systems analysts and support specialists, while working closely with operations, IT, and vendor partners to ensure optimal system performance and warehouse productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the configuration, optimisation, and ongoing performance of WMS and WLM platforms
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase system reliability
• Oversee system integrations with other internal and third party systems
• Partner with IT and Third party vendors to manage upgrades, patches, testing, and issue resolution
• Lead and mentor a team responsible for WMS/WLM support
• Establish KPIs and goals for the team, and ensure high-quality service delivery to warehouse operations
• Foster collaboration across teams including operations, PMO and IT
• Collaborate with warehouse leaders to ensure WMS/WLM solutions meet operational needs and drive productivity
• Analyse labor and operational data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for optimisation
• Support onboarding of new facilities, including WMS/WLM deployments and training
• Lead or support large-scale projects including WMS implementations, warehouse expansions, and automation initiatives
• Evaluate new technologies and vendors to enhance warehouse performance and employee engagement
• Drive alignment between technology capabilities and business goals

Experience:

• Previous experience working as a Head of WMS/Lead role
• Experience in managing both In house Teams and third party System providers
• Extremely systems/data minded
• Strong Management skills - at a senior level
• Experience in a Logistics Environment / WLM Systems / Resource Planning and KPI Management
