Job Title: Process/Product Development Scientist

Location: Hadleigh, Ipswich


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Process/Product Development Scientist to lead projects focused on developing new formulations, optimizing products, and supporting process improvements across multiple manufacturing sites. This role demands a strong focus on quality, project delivery, and customer satisfaction, with an emphasis on innovation and overcoming technical challenges.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development and process optimization projects for insulation products, ensuring high quality standards and timely delivery.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, securing necessary resources and capabilities to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct research on new product formulations, evaluate new chemicals, recipes, and processes both in the laboratory and manufacturing lines.
  • Collaborate closely with plant teams to plan and manage plant trials, analyze results, and report findings.
  • Maintain accurate records of all evaluations, investigations, and trials, and present technical data clearly to varied audiences.
  • Promote a safe and sustainable working environment, adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Continuously improve processes and share knowledge across the organization to support business objectives.
  • Work in partnership with Operations, Quality, Marketing, Engineering, and Purchasing teams.
  • Plan and execute work and testing independently, managing progress and communication with line management.


Requirements:

  • Degree or Doctorate (PhD) in a science or engineering-related subject. Background in Chemistry, Process Chemistry, Materials Science, or Polyurethane experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering new product development projects in multifunctional, multicultural environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a practical, flexible, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and resilience in meeting project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel between UK manufacturing sites as needed.
  • Passionate about product quality, customer-centricity, and rapid project delivery.
