Systems Administrator – On-Site | Northampton | Up to £38,000 + Benefits
A leading organisation near Northampton is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to oversee and manage their internal IT infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and performance of IT systems in a dynamic business environment.
This is an on-site role, offering up to £38,000 + benefits.
The Role:
As Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and optimisation of IT systems, networks, and servers, supporting the company’s business-critical operations. You’ll lead on troubleshooting, system upgrades, and implementing robust security protocols to safeguard data and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud systems.
- Oversee hardware and software installations, configurations, and updates.
- Monitor system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement and enforce IT security measures (firewalls, antivirus, encryption).
- Lead IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, and system implementations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems and processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand and address technology needs.
- Continuously review and enhance IT policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Solid experience in IT systems administration and network management.
- Proficient in system monitoring, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong understanding of IT security protocols and compliance standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communicator, able to work with technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Scripting or programming knowledge (PowerShell, Python).
- Relevant industry certifications.
