Head of Delegated Underwriting Performance & Product Delivery in City Of London

Job description

We’re partnering with a leading insurance business to support the hire for this newly created and pivotal leadership position. As the Head of the Delegated Underwriting and Product Delivery function you’ll manage 3 direct reports and a wider team, across three key verticals with scope to shape the functions development across a significant delegated portfolio.

This is a high exposure role working across multiple lines of business, and with senior stakeholders across the UK and internationally. You'll need to be comfortable moving across product lines and combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Responsibilities will include;

• Embedding and delivering the new Target Operating Model
• Overseeing delegated underwriting practices; including authority controls, and regulatory reporting
• Taking ownership for the development and monitoring KPIs of delegated business including; risk appetite, underwriting results and profitability
• Managing the delegated authority product lifecycle; from creation and launch through to closure and run-off
• Play a key role in product committee discussions and approvals, ensuring alignment with the Product Oversight and Governance framework.
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, MI, and pricing oversight

What You’ll Need

• Strong experience in delegated underwriting oversight and performance
• Ability to manage across multiple product lines
• Proven leadership experience within cross-functional environments
• Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders
• Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks including Consumer Duty and POG
