Contracts & Compliance Associate
This key role is to support Insight Global UK as it grows its global staffing business. The role will involve the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding process for contractors across the UK and Europe. This role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless candidate experience while maintaining full compliance with legal and client-specific requirements. Based in central London, this role sits within the UK Operations team and will report into the Senior Contracts & Compliance Manager. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external partners, and contractors to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- End-to-End Onboarding: Undertake the full onboarding lifecycle from offer acceptance to start date, ensuring a smooth and compliant process.
- Background Screening: Initiate and manage background checks in line with legal, regulatory, and client-specific requirements.
- Candidate Support: Set up candidates on the background screening platform and provide timely support throughout the process.
- Documentation Management: Ensure all onboarding documentation and compliance checks (e.g., Right to Work, IR35, AWR) are completed accurately and on time.
- Contract Administration: Draft and issue contractual documents including new starter contracts, extension letters, and termination notices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with umbrella companies, payroll providers, and background screening partners to ensure alignment and service quality.
- System Maintenance: Keep internal systems and records updated with accurate candidate and client information.
- Compliance Oversight: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and internal policies, ensuring all processes adhere to current standards.
- Audit Preparation: Compile candidate documentation for client audits and conduct internal compliance audits as required.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance and Sales teams to provide regular updates, reports, and insights on onboarding progress.
- Process Improvement: Act as a subject matter expert, identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance compliance and onboarding procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in compliance, HR, contracts administration, or a similar administrative role—ideally within recruitment, contractor management, or a related operational function.
- Experience working with different engagement models (PAYE, Umbrella, Limited company contractors - Inside/Outside IR35)
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
- Strong time management and organisational skills as well as the ability to prioritise and proactively manage workload
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate strong personal integrity and maintain confidentiality
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to meet customer or business needs
- Good level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Understanding of recruitment law and compliance requirements (preferred, but not mandatory)
