Job Description:


This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Indirect buyer to join a globalcompany to support the growth and transition of the procurement function in UK. The role offers opportunities to learn, develop, apply and work in a global environment with best in class processes & technology.


Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Senior Buyer will be proactively involved in procuring high-value goods and services in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with best practices, providing value for money at all times, and managing both CAPEX and OPEX procurement activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing contracts across a range of categories, including IT (software, hardware, consulting), consultancy services, MRO, consumables, civils maintenance, and equipment.
  • Execute a wide variety of contracts and sourcing strategies, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes and supplier performance.
  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders, negotiating agreements that deliver value for money and mitigate risk.
  • Support procurement operations across multiple UK entities, aligning with business goals and governance frameworks.
  • Lead procurement planning efforts, including pipeline development, stakeholder engagement, and spend analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovation through category insights, market knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing, upskilling, and capability development within the team.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in indirect procurement , preferably in a senior role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CIPS).


Role Details:

  • £50,000-£55,000 + market-leading benefits
  • Based at London HO, the successful candidate is expected to travel to Cheshire office at least once week; hybrid working options available
  • Start date: September 2025
