Job Title: Site Manager – Structured Cabling

Location: Newport, Wales, United Kingdom

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Manager to oversee small to medium-sized structured cabling projects or manage a portion of a larger project. This site-based role will involve supervising engineering teams, ensuring high-quality installations, and maintaining health & safety compliance throughout. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structured cabling and experience managing on-site installations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage teams of engineers and supervisors to deliver structured cabling installations to specification and schedule.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Manage stock and material orders to ensure efficient on-site progress.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with required standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain and update site drawings, patching schedules, and installation documentation.
• Prepare progress reports and attend client meetings, ensuring timely follow-up on action items.
• Produce Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and relevant handover documentation.
• Support urgent installation tasks when necessary.
• Maintain a strong focus on project profitability and delivery efficiency.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Proven experience in structured cabling, ideally within data centre or commercial environments.
• Ability to organise and motivate engineering teams on site.
• Strong understanding of cabling installation standards and best practices.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Confident with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
• Ability to manage workload under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Desirable (not essential):

• Valid CSCS or ECS certification.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
