Job description
A forward-thinking, multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Town Planner to join their growing planning team. About the Role:
The successful candidate will support planning consultants and senior planners in delivering a wide portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You will assist with planning applications, policy research, site appraisals, stakeholder engagement, and local plan representations, gaining exposure to all aspects of the UK planning system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of planning applications and supporting documents
- Assist with site assessments, planning strategy reports, and development feasibility
- Monitor local and national planning policy updates
- Conduct research, prepare planning statements, and support the appeals process
- Attend site visits and client meetings, with guidance from senior team members
- Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and clients
About You:
- A relevant degree (RTPI-accredited Town Planning or related subject)
- A genuine interest in planning and the built environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Eligibility for or working towards RTPI licentiate membership
