Job Title: Head of Product

Department: Product, Sales and Marketing

Location: London

Office based Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid (will be required onsite 1-2 Days a week)

JOB PURPOSE:

As Head of Product, you will work closely with our internal stakeholders (IT, Design, Operational, and Senior Management Teams), and external stakeholders (Customers, Industry bodies, etc) to deliver products and services our which deliver on our organisational mission. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to define these solutions to solve business problems/opportunities and highlight areas for growth. We are passionate about teams being involved from the very beginning. This means everything from working on product discovery, systems design, user interactions, right through to delivery and continued support and product evolution.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Senior Leadership Team to understand and define organisational goals and strategic plans.
  • Develop a product strategy which aligns to the company vision and stakeholder expectations.
  • Work with internal and external customers and stakeholders to understand user and market requirements, including conducting both quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Develop clear documentation and product specifications to help communicate product pipeline to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks or challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work with the software development team to ensure that user requirements are converted into clear technical specifications (utilising tools such as Jira and Confluence etc).
  • Manage project resource allocation, ensuring that teams have the necessary support and tools to succeed.
  • Oversee internal and external testing process to ensure that prototypes meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure development timeframes and project objectives are met. Including reporting of progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms to gather insights from customers and stakeholders.
  • Keep up to date with construction industry trends and initiatives and feed valuable intelligence into the product development lifecycle.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of developing and managing an organisational product suite in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others to find solutions to problems and opportunities.
  • Ability to simplify challenges and work with designers and software developers to clearly communicate business requirements.
  • Experience of working with in-house software development teams.
  • Experience of Agile/Scrum/Kanban and using development software (such as JIRA)
  • Demonstrable prioritisation skills; Determining what to build and why (based on company vision and customer needs) and communicating this clearly to the business to ensure alignment.
  • A passion for continuous discovery and adoption of feedback to support the ongoing development and improvement of products and services.
