Workshop Supervisor – Engineering | Cheltenham | £35,000 - £40,000 DOE

We are working with a leading manufacturing business in the Cheltenham area to recruit an experienced Workshop Supervisor for a newly created, hands-on role at their modern production facility.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to take ownership of daily workshop operations, ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing processes, while upholding the highest standards in quality, safety, and performance.


The Role

As Workshop Supervisor / Production Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in managing the assembly and manufacture of bespoke equipment. You will be responsible for supervising a small but skilled team, coordinating workflows, and maintaining a safe and organised working environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the manufacture and assembly of equipment, ensuring quality and production standards are met.
  • Allocate workloads and schedule daily tasks in line with production targets.
  • Monitor stock levels to avoid delays and ensure material availability.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to manage lead times and supply chain needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workshop environment.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and servicing of workshop equipment and tools.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation of workshop activities.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example in housekeeping and standards.


Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Practical background in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Relevant qualifications or time-served experience (mechanic or electrician background preferred).
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.


Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours: Full-time, permanent role
