Procurement Buyer

Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Salary: £25,000–£30,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Our client, a trusted name in defence and engineering solutions, is seeking a proactive and organised Procurement Buyer to support their Sales & Operations Manager in delivering efficient procurement services. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team where precision, compliance, and supplier relationships are key.

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ buying/procurement experience
• Familiarity with MRP systems (OrderWise experience a plus)
• Experience in supplier negotiation and invoice processing

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Qualifications:

• CIPS Level 2 (or working towards)
• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics

Key Responsibilities:

• Raise and process RFQs/RFIs and purchase orders
• Negotiate pricing and ensure financial authority compliance
• Update MRP system with compliance and safety data
• Perform first-level invoice checks against POs
• Manage supplier relationships and chase late deliveries
• Maintain approved supplier lists and compliance documentation
• Liaise with internal teams including sales administration
• Answer and direct customer calls professionally
