Job Title: Commercial Lead – Rail Engineering Project £250m

Location: West London, UK (Site-based with flexible working options)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Role

As the Commercial Lead, you will take strategic ownership of all commercial and contractual matters on the project. You will work closely with project directors, client representatives, and supply chain partners to ensure robust commercial governance, maximised value, and the successful delivery of this landmark scheme.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial management activities for the project.
  • Manage contract administration in line with NEC contracts and company procedures.
  • Drive cost control, forecasting, and risk management processes.
  • Negotiate with clients and supply chain to secure best-value outcomes.
  • Provide commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and support junior commercial staff within the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and corporate governance.


About You

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the construction, rail, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-profile project environment.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (RICS accreditation desirable).
