Buyer – Engineering & Industrial Supply Chain

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering organisation with a £10M turnover, supplying high-quality technical solutions to customers in multiple industrial sectors. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Buyer to help strengthen their supply chain capability and support operational delivery.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll work across a variety of commodities and purchasing activities, supporting both day-to-day operations and project-specific requirements:

• Manage purchasing activities across a wide range of goods and services
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing, quality, and delivery performance
• Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business goals
• Contribute to the development of robust and efficient supply chains
• Support project-related procurement, ensuring timely availability of materials and components
• Assist with administrative tasks such as generating sales orders and maintaining procurement records
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to align purchasing activities with operational needs

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• 2–3 years of proven buying or procurement experience, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment
• A track record of managing suppliers and achieving cost and performance improvements
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• The ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing business demands
• Competence in procurement systems and Microsoft Office tools
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working across functions
