Junior Lawyer (Financial Services) in London Area

Job description

Our client is a leading bank (across retail, corporate and institutional banking) in Europe with an international reach. They are now looking for a junior/newly qualified lawyer to join their Security Services business, a leading global custodian and renowned area of the organisation that is supported by an established, top-tier London-based legal team.

The successful candidate will occupy a visible, pro-active role within a team of lawyers and will:

• Work on the development of new products, taking into account cross-border and security requirements when necessary;
• Negotiate, draft and review custody agreements and other product contracts;
• Keep up to date and advise on regulatory issues affecting the business;
• Manage contentious issues and settlements when required.

We are looking for candidates with relevant financial services experience from a top-tier City firm or who are already working on a relevant scope of transactions in an in-house financial services organisation. You may bring asset management, markets/trading, regulatory or broad commercial experience to the table, all of which would be relevant as the scope of work in this team is broad and varied.

One unifying requirement is an ability to learn and be adaptable, as some product-based work may be first-to-market, and as such, tenacity and inquisitiveness are key attributes that this legal team share. In return, you’ll receive support and training from the team from the outset as you take on new workstreams.
