Job Title: Business Analyst / Product Owner – Legal Technology


Location: Hybrid – Based in one of several offices across the North West, North East, or Midlands

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time


About the Role

We’re working with a leading organisation seeking a Business Analyst / Product Owner to join their in-house Legal Technology team. This is a varied and collaborative role, working closely with legal and business stakeholders to shape and enhance a suite of internal legal tech products and applications.


You’ll play a key part in gathering requirements, identifying opportunities for new features, and helping to manage a clear product backlog. The role also involves working with third-party vendors and suppliers to ensure delivery aligns with business needs. Agile methodologies are central to how the team works, and there’s also an element of project coordination involved.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in Business Analysis or Product Ownership who enjoys working in a fast-paced, stakeholder-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritise business and functional requirements
  • Define and maintain product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and new features within legal applications and tools
  • Act as the liaison between legal/business teams and technical teams or third-party vendors
  • Support vendor/supplier management, including input into selection, performance, and delivery tracking
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies and work collaboratively within a cross-functional delivery team
  • Help coordinate and track project deliverables where required


Requirements


Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst and/or Product Owner
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to translate complex needs into clear requirements
  • Experience in managing Suppliers / Software Vendors
  • Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple projects or workstreams


Desirable:

  • Experience within a law firm, LegalTech provider, or related professional services environment
  • Background in financial services or other regulated industries
  • Exposure to project management principles or hybrid BA/PM roles
