Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Scrutiny Planning Team Leader for an initial 6 month contract with option to extend on a rate around £242.41/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.


Responsibilities:


- Lead, plan and coordinate the operational delivery of the annual programme of inspection to ensure effective resource allocation and scheduling of a programme of 400+ inspections.

- Using established criteria and principles to schedule inspections across the academic year, taking account of the nature, size and location of each establishment.

- Using established criteria and deployment principles to identify and plan the team of human resource required to deliver each inspection. This takes account of skills, experience and balance of work.

- Plan and ensure there are adequate contingency resource arrangements in place to ensure the inspection plan proceeds as planned.

- Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of the inspection plan. Ensuring that any issues are identified and changes actioned.

- Oversee the work of a small planning team to ensure that all aspects of the operational inspection plan is delivered.

- To manage a complex set of Excel spreadsheets that underpin the planning process and ensure the accuracy of the date contained therein.

- Utilise advanced Excel and Power BI capabilities to analyse data, generate insights, and produce dynamic reporting dashboards.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to align resource scheduling with organisational priorities and service delivery requirements.

- Provide advice to the inspection leadership team on the operational delivery of the inspection plan including any risks and issues.

- Help monitor and track the delivery of the inspection programme by preparing Management Information in support of relevant governance arrangements.


Essential Skills:


- Educated to Degree level and/or professional qualification.

- A proven track record of working in a similar role. At least 3 years’ industry experience.

- Strong leadership skills with experience of working in a fast-paced operational scheduling environment resolving complex, competing priorities.

- Expertise in end-to-end scheduling and resource deployment at scale in an operational environment. This includes a good understanding of risks, issues and mitigation within resource and workforce planning.

- Excellent IT and data management skills particularly in managing large volumes of data. Considerable skill and experience in using advanced functions of MS Excel and Power BI.

- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and able to influence a variety of audiences and senior stakeholders.
