We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a locum Planning Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 3-months.

This is a part-time position with capacity for 20 - 25 hours p/week, and they are offering an hourly rate of circa £50 - £60 p/hour UMB. This is a predominantly remote position, but the successful candidate will be required to attend committees on a monthly basis. They are looking for someone to get started as soon as possible.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Handling a mixed caseload of Planning, Highways and Enforcement matters
• Advising on planning matters to do with major projects in the region
• Providing advice to the client group on varied Planning matters, including advising on appeal enquiries and other associated matters as required
• Attending and representing the Council at Committee meetings on an ad-hoc basis
• Drafting and advising s.106 agreements, CIL, certificates of lawful use and advising on other planning related matters
• Advising on, drafting and completing highways agreements, including deeds of dedication and footpaths orders

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Authority
• Experience handling planning committees
• Significant planning & highways law experience

Working hours:

• 20 - 25 hours p/week
