Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks & Civil Engineering

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £45,000 – £75,000 (DOE) + package

We are representing a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor with a stellar reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the Midlands and beyond. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role:

You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of groundworks and civil engineering schemes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, with clear scope for career progression to Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects
• Prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Monitor project costs and report on financial performance
• Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Provide commercial support to project teams

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks and/or civil engineering
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (preferred)
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Ambition to progress within a thriving business
