A leading international law firm with a truly global platform, advising clients across multiple sectors and jurisdictions. Our London office is a hub for complex, cross-border legal work, and our Investment Funds practice supports sponsors, managers, and institutional investors across a wide variety of asset classes from real estate and private equity to infrastructure, hedge funds, and fund structured products.


The Role


We are seeking a bright and ambitious Funds Associate to join our London Investment Funds team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of funds and investment matters, advising clients around the world, including on transactions in emerging and frontier markets.


You will have a broad mix of legal work, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating documentation in relation to private equity funds, and advising international institutions on their corporate investments, with a particular focus on social impact and development finance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Advising on the structuring, launch, and ongoing operation of a range of investment funds, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds, and fund structured products.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating fund documentation, investor agreements, and co-investment arrangements.
  • Advising on GP removal and replacement clauses, governance, and investor rights.
  • Supporting clients on investments into emerging and frontier markets, particularly for development finance institutions and impact investors.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across corporate, tax, and regulatory teams to provide integrated advice.
  • Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality, commercially focused advice under tight deadlines.


About You


  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent).
  • Ideally 2–5 years’ PQE in funds law
  • Experience supporting private equity investments in emerging markets, with a focus on social impact.
  • Specific experience negotiating fund and private equity investments for development finance institutions and other impact investors.
  • Strong ability to work across multiple legal jurisdictions and cultures.
  • Commercially astute, with a strong awareness of market trends and legal developments.
  • Excellent drafting skills, with a client-focused and commercially minded style.
  • Proven ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues at all levels.
