Pyou UK - International Recruitment Agency is looking for a H&S Specialist on behalf of our client, a Fashion and Arts University based in London.

Our team is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to join a prestigious institution in the education sector. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by enhancing safety culture, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, and promoting best practices across vibrant campus operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with UK health &safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Develop, implement, and review H&S policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and support emergency preparedness.
• Support in the development and delivery H&S training programs for faculty, staff, and students.
• Conduct safety induction and orientation for new employees and academics.
• Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives.
• Support in investigating accidents, near-misses, and hazards, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to maintain safe facilities, laboratories, workshops, and public spaces.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 2+ years’ H&S experience, ideally in education, research, or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, including COSHH, RIDDOR, PUWER, and Fire Safety regulations.
• Confident communicator, capable of delivering engaging training sessions.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Fluency in English required; Italian language skills are a plus.
