Site-Based Hazardous Waste Chemist

Rochester | £30,000 – £35,000 DOE | Full-time, Permanent | Mon-Fri (Overtime opportunities available)

We’re seeking a skilled and safety-focused Chemist to join a leading environmental services company. In this hands-on site-based role, you’ll apply your chemistry expertise to identify, classify, and safely pack hazardous and non-hazardous materials for compliant transport and disposal.

This is an entry level position with fantastic long term career prospects for the right candidates!

What you’ll do:

• Identify, categorise, and document waste chemicals
• Safely pack chemicals in line with ADR transport regulations
• Transport materials to licensed facilities (company vehicle provided)
• Ensure compliance with environmental & transport legislation
• Work closely with customers, internal teams, and waste partners

What you’ll bring:

• Degree in Chemistry or related science (or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of chemical risks & hazards
• Full UK driving licence
• Familiarity with hazardous waste, COSHH, or ADR regs (training provided)
• Passion for safety, compliance, and environmental protection
