Legal Counsel

I’m working with a leading international energy trading business who are expanding their LNG operations and looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to join their team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy transition within a fast-growing and strategically important area.

As Legal Counsel supporting the LNG business, you’ll be involved in a diverse range of work, including:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly LNG master sale and purchase agreements and confirmation notices
• Supporting a wide range of agreements including LNG charterparties, tanker agreements, services agreements, confidentiality agreements, guarantees, and letters of credit
• Coordinating with internal teams (credit, tax, finance, trading) and negotiating directly with counterparties to close deals within time-critical deadlines
• Advising on short and medium-term LNG sale, purchase and shipping arrangements
• Maintaining and updating standard form agreements and templates, ensuring best practice and risk management
• Taking part in project teams to implement new processes, products, or entry into new markets

This is a visible, business-facing role where you’ll have a direct impact on trading activity and future growth.

About You

The successful candidate will bring:

• A legal qualification (UK or equivalent)
• Relevant experience gained at a top-tier law firm or in-house within the energy sector
• Familiarity with LNG, gas, or broader energy trading contracts is advantageous
