Our client


A global alternative investment firm with approximately $25 billion in assets who are focused on a range of lending strategies into different asset classes.


The role


As the senior member of the Legal team based in London, you will support investment, fundraising and group activities across the European business. You serve as a key partner to senior stakeholders, including investment professionals and capital formation.


Key responsibilities


  • Work with the investment team throughout the life of an investment transaction to ensure material legal issues are identified and appropriately considered.
  • Agreements may include, but are not limited to, loan or credit agreements, receivables purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, guarantees, indemnification agreements, and purchase and sale agreements.
  • Collaborate with the US to support fundraising initiatives in Europe.
  • Work with external counsel on all phases of fund formation, including private placement memorandum and limited partnership agreement review, side letter negotiation and fund closings.
  • Develop strong knowledge of fund structures.
  • Responsible for governance of management company entities.
  • Line management of another lawyer.


Experience requirements:


  • Broad experience across a variety of credit or lending transactions, with exposure to transactions in multiple European jurisdictions preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of legal experience, with experience in private fund management.
  • Prior industry in-house experience strongly preferred.
