Job Summary

Valink Therapeutics has a unique opportunity for a driven scientist to join our R&D team to help advance our pipeline of bispecific antibody-drug conjugates (bsADCs). The successful candidate will bring laboratory experience and expertise in discovery of biologics and will join an established team of Drug Discovery scientists to progress hits into drug candidates.


This is a unique opportunity for a high calibre and driven lab scientist with entrepreneurial mindset to join an early-stage biotech and make a difference to patients’ lives, and advance their career in drug discovery. It is anticipated that this role will contribute to activities from early-stage screening to preclinical IND-enabling studies: indication selection, target scouting, payload-linker evaluation, high-throughput novel ADC screening, in vitro/in vivo/ex vivo characterisation studies, antibody development.


Responsibilities­

As part of the R&D team, participate in the discovery of novel antibody-drug conjugates:

  • Contribute to the design and execution of experiments.
  • Independently execute own work, and troubleshoot where necessary. 
  • Contribute to the development and validation of new methods and assays.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines to advance Valink’s pipeline.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, respect, integrity, effectiveness, transparency, trust, and agility to support achievement of company scientific and business goals.



Candidate profile

  • The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Biology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology or a related discipline (PhD + 1-2 years of industry experience, or BSc/MSc + 3-4 years of relevant industry experience)
  • RequiredIndustry experience, primarily in biologics discovery and/or assay development.
  • DesirableExperience in cell-based assays, proliferation assays, flow cytometry, spheroid/3D cultures, in vivostudy execution and data analysis, ELISA, gene editing and cell line generation (e.g. Using CRISPR/Cas9), protein-protein kinetic assessment (SPR/BLI)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and desire to contribute in fast paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Highly adaptable, strong problem solver, with the ability to innovate and work collaboratively.
