Location: London (Hybrid)

Package: Up to £135k + 25% bonus + excellent benefits

As Head of Data Platform, you’ll spearhead the transition to a global federated model: blending central governance with local agility to enable truly data-driven decision-making across multiple markets. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Data Officer, you will own the platform’s vision, architecture, engineering, and operational excellence — while inspiring a talented technical team and uniting data leaders worldwide under one strategic direction.

What you’ll do:

• Act as the authority on the platform’s capabilities, roadmap, and future direction.
• Provide visionary leadership ensuring all data products align with strategic goals and technical standards.
• Drive performance, resilience, and continuous optimisation of the platform.
• Establish and embed best practices in software and data engineering.
• Deliver secure, reliable, and high-value data services to the business.
• Keep business impact front and centre in every development decision.
• Introduce the right tools, processes, and standards for seamless delivery.
• Anticipate trends, seize new technology opportunities, and keep us ahead of the curve.
• Analyse market and competitive landscapes to strengthen the platform’s position.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven success delivering large-scale, enterprise-grade data platforms from vision to execution.
• Proven experience within the Lloyd’s of London insurance market — essential.
• Deep experience with modern data tech stacks — e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• The ability to influence and inspire senior stakeholders and globally distributed teams.
