Job description

Our client is one of Scotland's leading names in the hospitality sector. Their brand and group has grown along with their reputation as an award winning business delivering quality and service through a multi site portfolio across Scotland.


With further site openings planned, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their property projects division and work closely to enable the growth and development plans.


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all cost and commercial aspects of projects incuding new site openings, refurbs and fit-outs.


The role is both office based and will require some site visits around Scotland, they also offer hybrid working.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commercial management of multiple projects from inception to completion
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
  • Manage tender processes, including contractor and supplier negotiations
  • Monitor project budgets, cash flows, and change control
  • Carry out value engineering to optimise quality and cost
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts, interim payments, and final accounts
  • Collaborate closely with the internal property team, external consultants, and contractors
  • Ensure that all work complies with legal and regulatory standards
  • Provide monthly cost reports and forecasting to the leadership team


Key Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Ideally a proven track record in the hospitality sector (hotels, restaurants, bars, retail)
  • Experience delivering refits, refurbishments, and new builds
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, Design & Build, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as needed

  • MRICS
  • Familiarity with sustainable and energy-efficient design principles
  • Experience working client-side or within a design & build contractor
