Employment Lawyer – In-House – 6+ PQE – London (Hybrid)
We’re working with an elite international law firm seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its internal legal function as part of the HR and Employee Relations team. This is a permanent in-house role, based in London, advising the business on complex employment matters across the UK and globally.
The Role:
This is a strategic hire within a newly evolving Centre of Excellence for Employment Law and ER. The role will focus initially on supporting major international restructuring and outsourcing projects, while also providing advice across the full spectrum of employment law issues.
You’ll act as a senior internal adviser to HR, legal, and business stakeholders, helping shape global employment frameworks and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on complex employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary issues, performance and investigations
- Manage litigation and settlement strategy, including external counsel and DSARs
- Review and update employment contracts, policies, and global template documents
- Provide advice on TUPE, restructures and corporate transactions
- Deliver employment law updates and internal training to HR and leadership
- Help embed global consistency, risk mitigation, and policy alignment across jurisdictions
About You:
- England & Wales qualified solicitor with 6+ years’ PQE (more experienced applicants welcomed)
- Strong background in employment law, including experience in-house or advising corporate clients in a regulated environment
- International employment law experience and understanding of global ER issues
- Commercial, pragmatic, and confident advising senior internal stakeholders
- Excellent communicator, collaborator, and trusted adviser with strong judgement
- Organised and comfortable handling a fast-moving, varied caseload
