Senior Chartered Building Surveyor – Exeter

Up to £58,950 | Hybrid Working | Public & Private Sector Projects


A leading national property consultancy is seeking a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile developments across both public and private sectors, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The role is full-time (37 hours per week) and offers a flexible hybrid working model, with a modern open-plan office conveniently located near the M5 for easy commuting.


Role Overview

As a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor, you’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of property professionals, providing expert advice across building surveying and maintenance disciplines. You’ll be involved in a wide range of projects, including:

  • Technical due diligence for commercial and residential properties
  • Preparing specifications, drawings, and risk assessments for new builds and refurbishments
  • Conducting site surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidations, measured surveys, and defect analysis
  • Leading quality assurance and ensuring compliance with legislation
  • Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders


Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a highly experienced professional with:

  • Chartered Membership of RICS (or equivalent), or working towards chartered status
  • Proven experience in building surveying across new build and refurbishment projects
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive approach to client relationships and project delivery
