Legal Counsel in Greater London

Job description

We are partnering with an exciting new hedge fund spin-off that is seeking a Counsel for its London office. This will be the second legal hire at the firm, working closely with the General Counsel on a wide range of matters. With a strong focus on technology, the role offers the opportunity to act as a key bridge between the legal, product, and technology teams, playing an integral part in shaping the firm’s growth and operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key link between legal, product, and technology teams, bringing curiosity and enthusiasm for innovation and emerging technologies.
• Support the global legal team across a wide range of matters, with an initial focus on commercial, corporate, and technology-related documentation.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including:
• Research and data contracts
• Software and technology licenses
• SaaS, AI, and vendor contracts
• NDAs and data protection agreements
• Recruitment agreements, consultancy agreements, and general business/vendor contracts
• Office-related agreements, including leases and facilities contracts
• Contribute to the administration, digitisation, and management of legal and regulatory workflows, enhancing efficiency and transparency.
• Assist with ad hoc fund, regulatory, trading and employment matters

Requirements:

• 3–6 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained at a technology-focused company, hedge fund, or leading law firm.
• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• A strong affinity for process improvement, technical skills desirable
• Strong stakeholder management skillset and a can-do attitude
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
