We're Hiring: Consultant Ophthalmologists

Location: East Sussex

Hours: 08:00 – 18:00 | Weekends Only

Clinics: General Outpatient Clinics

About the Role:

You will be responsible for assessing patients, performing comprehensive eye examinations using specialised equipment, and making accurate diagnoses, you will work within outpatient clinics, managing up to 30 patients per clinic across 4 fully equipped rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed eye examinations and assessments using advanced ophthalmic equipment
• Diagnose a wide range of ocular conditions and manage patient treatment plans
• Provide preventative care guidance and patient education
• Manage patient referrals efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions to sub-specialty clinics
• Discharge patients from the general clinic prior to referral to specialist services

Clinic Types:

• General Ophthalmology Outpatient
• Virtual Clinic Glaucoma Clinic
• Medical Retina Clinic
• Hydroxychloroquine Medical Retina Clinic
• Intravitreal Injection Nurse led Clinic
• Cataract Post Op

Requirements:

✔ Must be on the Specialist Register

✔ Proven experience in a Consultant Ophthalmologist role

✔ Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with a patient approach

✔ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

✔Must have UK and NHS experience
