Locum Democratic Services Officer – Full Time – Midlands – Initial 3+ Months – Rate DOE

Venn Group’s specialist legal team is currently partnering with a well-established Local Authority in the Midlands who are seeking an experienced Locum Democratic Services Officer to join their team on an interim basis.

The Role

• Position: Senior Democratic Services Officer
• Working Arrangement: Full time
• Rate: Dependent on experience
• Duration: Initial 3 months, with the potential for extension
• Onsite Requirement: 1 day per week in the office to support key meetings

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, collating, and distributing meeting agendas and associated documentation
• Supporting the Council’s democratic decision-making processes, including servicing Committees and providing guidance to elected members
• Attending and supporting meetings as required

About You

• Previous experience using CMIS is desirable
• A proven track record as a Democratic Services Officer, with the ability to work independently from day one
• Confident in attending and servicing high-level democratic functions
