Procurement Buyer – IT & Banking Operations

Location: Hybrid (with occasional travel to UK hubs)

Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term

We’re looking for dynamic Buyers to join a forward-thinking procurement team within a leading UK financial institution. This is your chance to shape strategic sourcing decisions across IT and banking operations, helping drive innovation and efficiency in a fast-paced, purpose-led environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be at the heart of procurement strategy, supporting key categories such as:

• IT Infrastructure – Platforms, Cybersecurity, Core Infrastructure, Telecoms
• Enterprise Applications – Software, Managed Services, IT Services
• Banking Operations & Services – Credit Risk Agencies, Print Solutions

Your role will involve:

• Leading tendering processes and procurement initiatives
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
• Delivering savings targets aligned with business goals
• Staying ahead of market trends and supplier capabilities
• Promoting procurement policy and governance compliance

What You’ll Bring

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven procurement experience in relevant categories
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Confidence and resilience in a change-driven environment
• Ability to interpret contracts and identify key issues
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Business awareness and sourcing best practices

Bonus Skills (Not Essential)

• CIPS qualification or working towards it
• Understanding of risk processes
• Familiarity with commercial and legal terminology
