Trustee in Scotland

ScottishPower is looking for an Trustee in Scotland

Job description

Trustee, ScottishPower Foundation

Location: UK wide (Voluntary with reasonable expenses covered)

The ScottishPower Foundation (SPF) was established in 2013 by ScottishPower, which is part of the Iberdrola Group; a global energy company and a world-leader in wind energy, with a strong commitment to the communities it supports.

We aim to make a significant and lasting contribution to society, enhancing the lives of people living in communities throughout the UK. Each year, through our annual funding cycle, approximately £1.4million is donated to registered charities across the UK. The key areas that the SPF supports, which are aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, are:

• Education, training and research

• Biodiversity and climate change

• Arts and culture

• Social initiatives

Decisions to award funding are made independently of our funder, ScottishPower, by an experienced Board of Trustees who have special interests in these themes.

The ScottishPower Foundation is an active funder, building and maintaining relationships with our charity partners over the duration of their project.

We aim to ensure that the money donated is used as outlined in the Funding Agreements, to ensure maximum benefit for the intended beneficiaries while working to be flexible and supportive of our charity partners’ different circumstances.

Joining the Board of Trustees is a rewarding and important role, and we are seeking candidates with relevant experience in the key areas of the Foundation’s work who can share specialist knowledge and skills in areas such as the environment, economic development and growth, or the charitable sector.

Through our commitment to improve representation in all that we do, we particularly welcome applications from all ages, BAME, LGBTQI+ people and people with disabilities.

For a confidential, informal discussion about the role, please contact our recruitment partner LHH, directly on +44 (0)141 220 6460 or e-mail ScotlandExecutive@LHH.com

Applications should arrive no later than midnight Sunday 14 September 2025.
