Overview

We are working in partnership with a reputable and forward-thinking consultancy to

appoint a Building Surveyor to support continued growth and a strong pipeline of

projects. This role is available in one of the following regions: London, the Midlands,

or the North West. The successful candidate will be regionally based and

responsible for delivering services within their local area.

The ideal individual will bring a solid foundation in building pathology, excellent time

management skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for their work.


Roles & Responsibilities

As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical

work with a strong focus on professional standards and client satisfaction. Key

responsibilities include:

• Conducting a wide range of building inspections and producing clear, well-

structured reports in line with client briefs and agreed timescales

• Identifying and diagnosing building defects using in-depth knowledge of

building pathology

• Liaising effectively with administrative and technical colleagues to schedule

inspections and ensure timely delivery of reports

• Responding promptly and professionally to client queries, including Part 35

questions where applicable

• Contributing to additional Building Surveying duties as required, which may

include party wall matters, expert witness reporting, and pre-purchase surveys


Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• A degree in Building Surveying from an RICS-accredited course (or

equivalent)

• AssocRICS, MRICS, or FRICS preferred; however, candidates with MCIOB

accreditation and suitable experience will also be considered

• Proven experience in building pathology is essential

• Prior involvement in expert witness work, party wall matters, or residential pre-

purchase surveys is desirable — although training can be provided for

candidates with the right foundation and willingness to develop• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor

reporting and advice to different client types

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and comfortable using mobile

inspection/reporting tools such as iPads
