Our Client:


A fast growing insurance business is seeking an experienced corporate Lawyer (9+ PQE) to be the Head of Corporate Legal reporting to the CEO and working with the C-suite level in a strategic role.

This is a senior position that offers considerable scope for progression into a General Counsel/ Chief Legal Officer position within 12-18 months for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:


This position requires a broad range of legal expertise across corporate, commercial, regulatory, governance, and risk management matters.


As a senior lawyer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide strategic legal advice across corporate transactions, commercial contracts, and governance matters, ensuring compliance and supporting Board operations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risk across jurisdictions, and manage disputes and litigation with external counsel.
  • Support high-impact business initiatives like M&A and international growth, while delivering clear, commercially focused legal guidance to senior leadership.
  • Oversee legal support for board and shareholder matters, including drafting resolutions, managing filings, and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Act as a key liaison with external counsel, regulators, and internal stakeholders on corporate legal issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures aligned with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, assessing impact and advising the business accordingly.



Qualifications & Experience:


  • 7 years'+ PQE as a lawyer in private practice or in-house in an insurance legal team.*
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commercial mindset, focused on delivering pragmatic, business-oriented legal solutions.
