Job Spec
Looking for an Operations Lead for its International Agency to join the team of Underwriting (UW) Operations Leads, based in London. The position reports to the AVP for Underwriting Operations and will be responsible for running day-to-day UW operations, including management of onshore delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day management of all aspects of International UW Operations for the responsible product line(s)
* Overall ownership of delivery of Agency UW Operations for responible product line(s); ensuring timely and accurate services to our Syndicated Capital Management (SCM) partners
* Liasion/communiation with International UW Teams to deliver UW operational processing, provide updates on operational performance and address queries
* Coordinate with North America Agency Operations counterparts to ensure global continuity in governance, process, and communication as well as managing expectations and deliverables to SCM partners
* Act as key point of contact for mitigation of any operational issues/concerns raised by stakeholders or customers
* Responsible for management and performance of offshore operations as relates to service levels/KPIs, quality and timeliness of delivery, issue resolution, corrections, audit and benchmarking
* Be key middle-office point person between onshore underwriting teams and offshore teams. Act as the point of escalation for all UW offshore operations issues
* Undertake review and development of optimal process flow. Identify and implement additional opportunities to best maximize and leverage offshore operations capabilities
* Facilitate quarterly and annual planning with UW teams to determine future resourcing requirements
* Ensure operating procedures and guidleines are in place, followed and maintained
* Develop necessary corrective action plans, as needed, related to both business requirements and UW operations performance and delivery quality
* Participate in projects to improve/automate operations, acting as a subject-matter expert for the responsible product line
Skills, Experience and Education
* Two to three years processing operational activities within London market is required (e.g. Submissions, clearance, binding/booking, etc.), particularly offshore operations
* One to three years supervising underwriting operations for a Lloyd's syndicate; experience with professional liability and financial Lines of business and managing offshore operations is preferred
* Strong use of computer software, including all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, etc) is required; knowledge/experience working with Xuber for Insurers; experience working with automation (e.g. Robotics/machine learning) is preferred
* Strong attention to detail when analysing data and wordings * Ability to communicate effectively with employees/customers, mitigate potential issues that arise and react quickly to any issues to mitigate impact
* Ability to conceptualize and execute innovative plans impacting overall efficiency and productivity of operations
* Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically distributed team and quickly understand and adopt to new cultural norms/standards
* Ability to effectively manage offshore operations and drive maximum value out of the relationship
* Ability to work with all levels of employees and management
