A position has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join our fast-growing team based in our Epsom office.
This opportunity involves undertaking a broad range of surveying duties for various private and Local Authority Clients across a wide variety of sectors predominantly in London and the Southeast.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience as a Building Surveyor working alongside Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors, Bank Monitoring Surveyors and Expert Witnesses specialising in quantum and technical matters. The successful candidate will be supported through the RICS APC process to gain Chartered Status. They will also have the opportunity to have the support of a mentor in the company to help them achieve their career goals.
Day-to-day Responsibilities to include but not restricted to the following:
- Assist in undertaking measured and residential and commercial building surveys.
- Help in the preparation of existing and proposed plans.
- Preparing and submitting planning and building regulation applications.
- Assist in preparing Schedules of Condition and Awards for Party Wall matters.
- Write specifications and prepare tender and contract documentation.
- Assist in the role of Contract Administrator.
- Attend and chair project progress meetings and prepare minutes and progress reports.
- Analyse tenders and prepare tender reports.
- Assist undertaking dilapidation surveys and prepare Scott schedules.
- Assist with defect analysis surveys and preparing reports.
- Assisting with Licences to Alter.
What you'll need:
- To have an RICS accredited Degree in Building Surveying.
- Be willing to work towards your APC and gain full membership status of RICS (MRICS).
- Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, Clients and members of the public.
- Good IT skills and a full working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- CAD/BIM Experience beneficial.
- Have a keen eye for detail and strive to provide a quality service.
