My client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Medical Negligence Solicitor to join its Leeds team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).

For the right candidate, there may be scope for a permanent role at the end of the contract.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of high-value and complex cases, including:

• Managing a caseload of serious injury and medical negligence matters
• Drafting legal documents, statements, and reports
• Liaising with clients, experts, and Counsel
• Attending hearings and managing litigation proceedings
• Supervising and supporting junior team members
• Contributing to business development and knowledge sharing within the department

What are they looking for?

• At least 8 years’ PQE in medical negligence or serious injury litigation
• Strong track record in handling complex and high-value cases
• Excellent client care and communication skills, with the ability to support vulnerable clients and their families
• Leadership and supervisory experience
• Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development
• Strong organisational and financial management skills
