Business Ops Lead - High-Growth Consumer Tech SaaS (Series A)

To £125k + Equity

E1, London | 4 days a week on-site

A fast-scaling Consumer Tech SaaS company is searching for its first Operations Lead, a foundational hire to help transition the business from early-stage startup to structured scale-up.

Backed by a recent $22M Series A, the company has already reached over 1M MAUs and $4M ARR, with plans to scale to $25M+ ARR by 2026.

With a mission to redefine how young people learn through gamification and social features, this consumer SaaS product has struck a chord with UK-based students (15–24), and is rapidly gaining traction in the US too.

Now 10 people strong, the company has a clear trajectory to reach 40+ employees within 12–18 months, and needs an analytical, execution-oriented Ops Lead to build and run key business functions, including finance, people, legal, compliance, and investor relations (some of these functions are/can be outsourced). The role reports directly to the CEO and works alongside product, engineering, and design leads.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Operations: Lead business reviews, tracking progress against KPIs and identifying blockers.
  • Finance & Investor Relations: Own financial reporting, modelling, budgeting, and support ongoing investor comms.
  • People & Talent Ops: Build lightweight, scalable people systems and processes; oversee hiring and help maintain a strong, focused culture.
  • Business Operations: Establish operational processes that enable speed, quality, and accountability.
  • Legal & Compliance: Oversee corporate governance, regulatory risk, and manage third-party legal/accounting firms.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong academic background (Russell Group preferred) in Economics, Maths, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Highly quantitative, with experience in business/financial analysis and making data-driven operational decisions.
  • Previous experience in a high-growth startup (ideally post-Series A) is required
  • Background in strategy consulting or investment banking, plus exposure to startup environments will be considered
  • Track record of scaling headcount and building company infrastructure.
  • Strong communicator, able to work across commercial and technical teams.
  • Comfortable managing third-party providers and growing an internal ops function (e.g. Hiring HR).

Nice to Have

  • Consumer tech or subscription-based platform experience.
  • Exposure to EdTech, gamification, or learning products.
  • Experience building operational foundations in fast-moving, high-growth businesses.

With full autonomy to build out your team and shape core operations from day one, this is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact at a high-growth startup backed by top-tier VCs. You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, with momentum, funding, and ambition all in place.
