Job description

We’re working with a leading professional services firm that is seeking an R&D Tax Associate to join their expanding tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional to focus on R&D Tax Relief while gaining exposure to a broad range of other tax services.


The Role

The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio of clients – from ambitious start-ups to established businesses – supporting them with R&D tax claims and wider tax compliance. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and managing R&D tax relief claims, including technical reports and HMRC correspondence
  • Advising on EIS/SEIS compliance and EMI/ERS returns
  • Providing ad-hoc advice across personal and corporate tax matters
  • Supporting process improvements within the tax function
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships


Candidate Profile

  • ATT qualified (minimum) with an interest in progressing to CTA; or hold an equivalent professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CA) with a strong interest in progressing through relevant tax qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ UK tax experience gained within a UK tax practice or specialist R&D firm
  • In-depth knowledge of the end-to-end R&D process, including technical analysis, claim preparation, report writing and managing claims through to submission
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex tax matters clearly
  • Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) and excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a professional environment

Please note this role is fully remote and a full-time, permanent position.


The salary range on offer is £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per annum depending on experience and qualification level.
