Production Planner/ Buyer in Chichester

Job description

• Production Planner
• Plan, schedule and coordinate production of the company’s products.
• Provide lead time & order confirmation dates to the Sales team.
• Manage limited space and skill resources to ensure customer delivery dates are always met in the most efficient manner.
• Scheduling shifts and workers to provide the required skill coverage.
• Reporting on the production status and any production issues to the Production Manager.
• In collaboration with the Production Manager handling production disruptions and productivity problems.
• Ensure the plan is adhered to and delivered as intended.
• Ensure each monthly build target is achieved.
• Be an integral part of the team, supporting with every aspect of the process in a hands-on manner.

• Production Buyer
• Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production.
• Ensure any one off projects or out of normal build volume still has all of the materials required ahead of time to avoid any delays to production.
• Place & manage orders for specific repeating suppliers.
• Support the Purchaser to ensure procurement planning and inventory management efforts to align with production schedules and trends.

• Process Improvement
• Take ownership for continually improving the planning/scheduling process to improve its efficiency.
• Through improved planning, implement a strategic reduction in stock holding and variation.

• Required and Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of production processes and quality control
• Math and analytical skills
• Technical skills using material requirements planning and scheduling software
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of employees
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Deadline driven
• Strong literacy of Microsoft Excel
• Remuneration @ £30k
