As Bid Writer at RedRock Consulting, you will play a central role in shaping the voice and clarity of our bid responses. Working alongside our Bid Manager, client account leads, and sales teams, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, compliant, and customer-focused content that wins business.

This is a content-led role, distinct from bid process ownership. You will be working closely with a bid manager who will be responsible for managing portals, timelines, or qualification governance. Your role will be to develop design content strategy and to develop and refine bid content, to ensure every bid submission is accurate, persuasive, and aligned with RedRock’s tone and values.

You’ll be instrumental in:

• Auditing and improving our existing bid content library.

• Preparing content for integration with AI bid management tools such as AutogenAI, Stotles, and Altura

• Leading the creation of new content across bids, including case studies, methodologies, and executive summaries.

• Collaborating with technical and presales teams to ensure content is technically sound and easy to understand.

• Writing in plain English, translating complex ideas into clear, evaluative responses that resonate with public and private sector evaluators.

Principal duties and responsibilities

Content Strategy & Development

• Audit and refine existing bid content to improve clarity, relevance, and alignment with RedRock’s brand and values

• Lead the development of new content for bids, including reusable templates, case studies, and methodology narratives.

• Ensure all content is structured for reuse and tagging within AI bid platforms


Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with subject matter experts, technical leads, and presales teams to gather accurate input and translate it into compelling content.

• Partner with marketing and design colleagues to enhance written content with visuals and infographics where appropriate


AI-Enabled Bid Content Preparation

• Prepare and format content for use in AI bid management tools, ensuring semantic tagging, compliance alignment, and reusability

• Use tools like AutogenAI’s Ideator and Extractor to accelerate first-draft creation and extract key information from large documents


Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all content is compliant with bid specifications, customer requirements, and relevant frameworks (e.g., GDS standards).

• Maintain consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all submissions.

Continuous Improvement

• Capture and incorporate feedback from previous bids to improve future responses.

• Contribute to the evolution of RedRock’s bid content library and knowledge base.


Efficiency & Impact

• Reduce time to first draft and increase bid team capacity through structured content workflows

• Help drive measurable improvements in win rates, bid throughput, and content quality

Must Have Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as content designer
  • Able to manage the production of evidence-based bid responses to complex solutions that both address the requirements and are compelling to the intended audience
  • Experience of public sector procurements
  • Experience in working within a bid capacity for businesses delivering IT Services
  • Able to build relationships with key stakeholders across a variety of disciplines and levels in an organisation
  • Exceptional written and communication skills
  • Effective project management skills & experience
  • Skilled in preparing documents in Microsoft Word & PowerPoint that are to an extremely high standard and follow corporate brand guidelines

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of bid management specifically for complex IT solutions delivered through multi discipline teams
  • Experience working with opportunities in the UK government Digital & Data departments including familiarity with Government Digital Service Standards and delivery lifecycles
  • Experience of working across a broad range of business sectors covering both the public and private sectors
  • Experience of working with marketing and design teams to create powerful visual representations of words to convey complex information in a simple way
  • Awareness of commercial proposals and contracts
