Membership Development Officer

Location: London (hybrid, with UK travel)

Salary: Up to £29K

Start: ASAP

Duration: Until December 2026

We are delighted to be working with a leading professional membership body to recruit a Membership Development Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive individual to play a key role in driving membership growth, engagement, and retention.

The Role

As Membership Development Officer, you will:

• Support the delivery of the organisation’s membership recruitment and retention strategy.
• Promote the value and benefits of membership to prospective and existing members, industry stakeholders, and partner organisations.
• Develop and deliver engaging membership communications and campaigns across digital, print, and events channels.
• Represent the organisation at key events, exhibitions, webinars, and workshops across the UK.
• Provide first-class support to members and prospective members, handling enquiries with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Contribute to the management of CRM records, membership applications, subscriptions, and renewals.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days will be the same, from presenting to prospective members and supporting national events, to producing engaging membership marketing content and building strong stakeholder relationships.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience in a membership, professional body, or customer-focused environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to building relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
• Confidence in using digital tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in marketing content creation, events support, or professional registration processes would be advantageous, though not essential.
