Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Location: London (Hybrid working available)

About the Company

We are working with a leading creative agency producing high-quality content for top cultural institutions and global brands, who are looking for an experienced, detail-driven Subeditor to join their busy and collaborative agency team.

Supporting the Chief Subeditor, you’ll help deliver a fast-paced publishing programme that spans magazines, books, annual reviews, proposals and digital campaigns. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives in a creative environment and is passionate about language, publishing and culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Sub, copy edit, fact-check, proofread and perform accessibility testing across a wide range of content
• Write engaging headlines, captions, standfirsts and other editorial elements
• Support communication with clients and external contractors
• Assist with scheduling and workflow management, ensuring deadlines are met
• Help manage and implement style guides and editorial standards
• Contribute to continuous improvements in editorial systems and processes
• Occasionally deputise for the Chief Subeditor, reviewing freelance work and maintaining quality standards

Skills & Experience Required

• 3+ years’ professional subediting experience
• Magazine and digital publishing experience essential
• Strong interest in Arts and Culture
• Excellent communication skills
• Great time manager
• Excellent editorial judgement and razor-sharp attention to detail
