HR Business Partner – Newport (12-Month Contract)


Location: Newport

Contract Type: Temporary (12 months, likely to be extended)

Hours: 37 per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am–7pm)

Rate: £24.95/hr PAYE | £33.37/hr Umbrella

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (to be completed by client)

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Interview Process: Two-stage


About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner to join their team in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic HR support across a large-scale organisation, contributing to performance, development, and cultural transformation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to deliver proactive HR solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on HR policies, employment law, and best practices.
  • Lead performance, salary, and team review cycles.
  • Promote company values and support a positive workplace culture.
  • Support change management initiatives with a focus on people.
  • Drive talent development and internal mobility.
  • Manage disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Deliver training on HR policies and initiatives.
  • Monitor absence rates and support attendance improvement.
  • Participate in recruitment and assessment activities.
  • Produce monthly HR data reports for management.
  • Support redeployment and redundancy processes.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional HR projects.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong influencing and communication skills.

  • Strategic thinking and initiative-driven mindset.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
