Fraud & Commercial Litigation Associate in London Area

Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment is looking for an Fraud & Commercial Litigation Associate in London Area

Job description

Associate (2–5 PQE) – Civil Fraud & Complex Commercial Litigation

London | Full-time | ⚖ Permanent | Boutique Litigation Powerhouse

Join one of the UK’s most respected litigation-only firms. A top-ranked boutique known for punching well above its weight in complex, high-stakes commercial disputes.

This firm has built a global reputation for handling civil fraud and commercial litigation cases that shape precedent, attract press coverage, and go toe-to-toe with Magic Circle and US firms. Their name regularly appears in connection with freezing injunctions, asset recovery, emergency relief, and cross-border enforcement.

Now, they’re looking to hire an exceptional Associate (2–5 PQE) into their tight-knit team. You’ll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the most respected civil fraud partners in the UK, and you’ll be expected to bring sharp thinking, technical excellence, and strong commercial instincts from day one.

What you’ll do:

  • Act on a range of multi-jurisdictional disputes involving civil fraud, asset tracing, and complex contractual claims
  • Assist in obtaining injunctions (including freezing, search, and disclosure orders) in urgent and often high-pressure scenarios
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, evidence bundles, and legal submissions
  • Liaise with counsel, forensic experts, and foreign law firms on strategy and procedural coordination
  • Take on meaningful responsibility in hearings, settlement discussions, and advocacy preparation

What you’ll need:

  • 2–5 years’ PQE in commercial litigation, ideally with a focus on civil fraud or asset recovery
  • Solid experience drafting urgent court applications and dealing with evidence-heavy disputes
  • Strong understanding of the CPR, injunctive relief, enforcement, and cross-border procedure
  • Confidence handling client contact, managing deadlines, and contributing to strategic decisions
  • A strong academic background and training from a leading City, US, or boutique disputes firm

The team:

This is not a volume litigation shop. Associates are given real work and real visibility. You’ll work closely with the firm’s partners on every matter, learning directly from leaders in their field and playing an active role in shaping litigation strategy. You’ll also be encouraged to contribute to the firm’s business development efforts and take ownership of your career trajectory.

Why apply?

  • Join one of the UK’s most elite litigation boutiques, with a proven track record in civil fraud
  • Get more strategic responsibility than you would in a larger, more layered disputes team
  • Access high-profile, cross-border work. No repetitive disclosure-only roles
  • Work in a collegiate, partner-accessible culture that champions your development
  • £84,000-£104,000 + merit-based bonus scheme

The bottom line:

If you’re a commercial litigator with 2–5 years’ PQE and a passion for heavyweight disputes, this is your chance to escape the rigid structures of BigLaw and step into a leaner, more agile environment, one where your ideas are heard, your work matters, and your career moves faster.
