Regulatory/Fitness to Practice Lawyer 2+ To £££
Exciting opening at this premier healthcare firm to act for many regulatory bodies, both in the health and social care sectors and increasingly, more widely including the SRA. The work requires handling an investigatory caseload where it is alleged the registrant's fitness to practise is impaired through misconduct, competence or health issues and preparing those cases for hearings before panels and committees of the relevant regulators. The cases cover everything from large-scale fraud or multi-patient clinical failings through to inappropriate sexualised behaviour. You will have strong advocacy experience (including barristers, solicitor advocates or solicitors with experience as tribunal advocates) to service clients both locally and nationally. You will primarily present cases at final substantive hearing and represent regulators at interim application and case management hearings. There is also the opportunity to get involved in broader advisory work including the use of statutory powers and other issues affecting regulators. You will appear in the High Court and the First Tier Tribunal on appeals from decisions of the regulators. Relevant trial/ final hearing advocacy experience essential.
