Job Title: Compliance Officer – Gambling

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Reports To: Compliance Manager

Employment: Full-time (Remote, 24/7 shift patterns)

Salary Range: £35,000 – £40,000


Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to join our compliance team. This role supports the Compliance Manager in ensuring full adherence to UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) regulations, internal policies, and wider regulatory frameworks. It is key to maintaining licence conditions, promoting responsible gambling, and ensuring the business operates with integrity and transparency.


Key Responsibilities:


AML and Responsible Gambling

  • Monitor customer activity for signs of money laundering or problem gambling.
  • Carry out enhanced due diligence (EDD) and source of funds (SOF) checks when required.
  • Review and verify KYC documentation.

Data Management & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate compliance records, risk assessments, and audit documentation.
  • Manage customer records relating to compliance matters.

Incident and Breach Management

  • Conduct internal investigations and escalate issues or potential breaches to the Compliance Manager.

Complaints

  • Investigate escalated complaints, recommend appropriate actions, and ensure accurate documentation.

Marketing & Advertising

  • Review marketing and promotional materials to ensure compliance with CAP/BCAP codes and ASA guidelines.
  • Provide compliance advice and support to operational teams across the business.
  • Stay updated on gambling legislation, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices.


Requirements


Essential:

  • Previous experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory support, ideally within gambling or another regulated industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Gambling Commission requirements and the Gambling Act 2005.
  • Understanding of AML, KYC, and safer gambling principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance tracking systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience in online gambling or betting environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory tech tools or CRM systems.
